Elounda is situated on the North Eastern Coast of Crete, approx 7 miles from the town of Aghios Nikolaos. There are magnificent mountain and sea views along the road from Aghios Nikolaos.
Elounda consists of 4 villages.
In 3 of them it is possible to see the original Cretan life, with the old architecture, donkeys carrying their burdens from the field’s everyday and the old folk gathered around the village squares enjoying a game of backgammon.
The fourth village is situated by the sea and is the main tourist area. |

Along the busy waterfront, it is possible to see the local fishermen in the harbour landing their catch and repairing their nets, alongside the water-sports and many tourist boats used for excursions around the coast.
Elounda is very much a mixture of the old and the new, with many bars, shops and restaurants to keep you entertained during your stay. You will always receive a warm welcome here.
Elounda has several luxury hotels and boasts some of the most exclusive resorts in Greece.
Plaka is just 5km up the road from Elounda and is a small fishing village with a handful of lovely fish taverns. This can be reached by the local bus from the village square.
